The Dimslow Report

5.15.05   Discrimination and Other Wrongs   Standing up

Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 7:

"All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination."

Let's see, now: "discrimination in violation of this Declaration"? How about slave wages, lack of universal health care, perpetual unemployment, grotesque inequality of condition, crimes against humanity like the U.S. (etc.) invasion of Iraq, a system of government that is most ways bought and sold to the highest bidder....

Seems like discrimination against humanity to me. But what does a poor old Dimslow know?

Old Dimslow is heartened to see more and more folks standing up to the abominations that surround us.
